Swift leads charts again
Wednesday, December 29, 2010 – Taylor Swift has the top selling disc in the country, and it was the only country CD in the top 10 on the Billboard chart.
"Speak Now" sold 276,000 units, according to Nielsen SoundScan. The figure represents sales through Dec. 26.
Swift was just ahead of Susan Boyle's "The Gift," second with 240,000 units sold, down 6 percent.
Overall sales were 15.08 million units, up 21 percent compared to last week (12.49 million) and down 12 percent compared to the similar sales week of 2009 (17.14 million). Year-to-date album sales are 319.01 million, down 13 percent compared to the same total at this point in 2009 (366.13 million).
The chart will be officially released Thursday.
