Swift's "Speak Now" holds down top spot
Wednesday, January 5, 2011 – Taylor Swift's "Speak Now" holds at the top spot for a fifth non-consecutive on Billboard's top 200 with sales of 77,000, down 72 percent from the previous week. The drop was expected in the post-holiday week.
Swift had the only country disc in the top 10. Eminem's "Recovery" was second, up from seventh.
Overall album sales for past chart week (ending Jan. 2) totaled 7.15 million units, down 53 percent compared to the last week (15.08 million) and down 8 percent compared to the similar sales week of 2009 (7.76 million).
The charts are officially out on Thursday.
