Rucker preps third disc
"We'll start recording in January," he told cbsnews.com earlier this week. "It will be out next year."
While Rucker's country career has taken over with five number one country songs to his credit, he remains known also as the lead singer of Hootie & the Blowfish. While it's been more than six years since Hootie released a new album, the band members remain close friends and reunite several times a year to perform at charity fundraisers, according to Rucker.
"We'll always be together," Rucker said. "I don't think we'll ever break up totally. We're Hootie & the Blowfish...We'll make another record and do another tour someday. I don't know when, but it will happen. There's one more in us."
Rucker will start touring in January with Lady Antebellum. "I'm having a lot of fun," he said. "So why stop doing it now?"
