Alaina returns to being Idol

Thursday, March 1, 2012 – Lauren Alaina will return to the Fox hit show American Idol to perform her current single Georgia Peaches on March 8.

Alaina, who began her career as a recording artist on American Idol, said, "I think it's gonna be such a great feeling to go back to Idol and be on the other side. It will be great to perform without the stress of the competition on my mind. I am excited to show the Idol viewers what I have been doing since last appearing on the show. It's going to be like a homecoming."

Alaina is one of two opening acts for select cities on the highly anticipated Sugarland "In The Hands Of The Fans" tour which kicks off in Toledo, Ohio, on April 6. Alaina, along with Luke Bryan, is currently on the Jason Aldean "My Kinda Party" Arena tour.

Alaina, a Rossville, Ga. native, and the American Idol Season 10 runner up, released her debut album "Wildflower" last fall.

CD reviews for Lauren Alaina

CD review - Getting Good Lauren Alaina's "Getting Good" may not measure up to a traditionalist's high standards, but as a pop-country compromise, it's pretty darn good. "Getting Good" is the EP's best song. ...
CD review - Road Less Traveled It's been six years since Lauren Aliana tasted mega success as runner up on American Idol. She was anxious to get out her first full-length effort since 2011's "Wildflower." She reflected, "I wrote for it for three and a half years. I've grown so much as a person, a songwriter and an artist in that time. These songs are a true representation of who I am, where I've been and where I'm going. This album has pushed me to accept who I am and be 100% honest about it. ...
CD review - Wildflower It's a bit surprising that, in a world where hip-hop and power pop tend to rule the airwaves that a mainstream show like" American Idol" has been so welcoming to the country music genre. Yet they have, helping to launch the careers of such stars as Josh Gracin, Kellie Pickler, and, of course, Carrie Underwood. And the latest season upped the ante, with the finishing tandem of Scotty McCreary and Lauren Alaina representing the genre finely while McCreary took the crown. ...
