Garth Brooks, Trisha Yearwood play Live Earth
Sunday, July 8, 2007 – Superstar couple Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood were a last minute addition to the Live Earth concerts by playing Washington, D.C. Saturday. Brooks, who played guitar, and Yearwood sang his hit "We Shall Be Free."
The D.C. part of the world-wide series of concerts devoted to emphasizing environmentalism and the problem of global warming was only announced Friday by former Vice President Al Gore, who was the key force behind the concerts.
Keith Urban played at Giants Stadium in New Jersey as part of the event. He played the Rolling Stones' "Gimme Shelter" with Alicia Keys.
