Martin, Brickell go live

Thursday, February 20, 2014 – Steve Martin and Edie Brickell, fresh off their Grammy for Best American Roots Song, are set for their first-ever live concert television broadcast as PBS' Great Performances on March 4.

One week later, Rounder Records will release a deluxe two-disc CD/DVD package documenting this special event. Highlighting Martin's blend of comedy and bluegrass, this live performance was taped in HD at the Fox Performing Arts Center in Riverside, Cal. last fall.

With music supervision by the Peter Asher, the concert features material from Martin and Brickell's "Love Has Come For You" as well as songs from "Rare Bird," project with the Steep Canyon Rangers in addition to music from his solo album "The Crow: New Songs for the Five-String Banjo."

The deluxe two-disc CD/DVD package, also titled "Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers featuring Edie Brickell Live," contains two hours of comedy and music including four previously unreleased tracks: "Pretty Little One," "Auden's Train," "The Dance at the Wedding" and "Katie Mae."

Steep Canyon Rangers (Mike Ashworth, Mike Guggino, Charles R. Humphrey III, Woody Platt, Nicky Sanders, Graham Sharp) backed Martin and Brickell.
