"I Drive Your Truck" takes ACM song honor
Sunday, April 6, 2014 – The ACM Song of the Year is "I Drive Your Truck," a big hit for Lee Brice.
The award goes to the songwriters, which included Brice, Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington and Jimmy Yeary. Brice took the trophy, but gave the mic over to the songwriters.
"To every person in America who knows what it's like to live this song day in and day out. God bless you. Amen," said Harrington.
Among the nominees were "Mama's Broken Heart," the hit for MIranda Lambert and "Wagon Wheel,' a hit for Darius Rucker and written by Bob Dylan and Ketch Secor of Old Crow Medicine Show.
