Jason Michael Carroll is a hit in LA, sort of

Monday, July 23, 2007 – Jason Michael Carroll came close to living up to the lyrics of one of his songs this weekend when he went to attend a Dodgers game in Los Angeles.

Carroll took time out while working in Los Angeles to see the Dodgers play the Phillies, attending his third major league game, only to be struck by a foul ball from Dodger Jeff Kent. "How random was that?" Carroll smiled.

After homering earlier in the game, Kent hit a powerful drive foul right at Carroll. "From his bat to my elbow, it was zooming," said Carroll

There is a baseball connection with Carroll. The lyrics to "Looking at You," a track on Carroll's album, include the words "a foul ball hit me right between the eyes," although Kent's all hit him on the elbow.

Paramedics were on the spot, but all was well. With souvenir ball in hand, "They were treating me like the chosen one," he said. Carroll bought a bat at the stadium, engraved with his name, the date and the words, "Hit by #12 Foul Ball." Carroll hoped that an autographed ball from Jeff Kent and hopefully a DVD of the foul play are both in the works.

CD review - Numbers Much like his career, Jason Michael Carroll's latest offering, "Numbers," is a collection of hits and misses. There's little of the soul and personal touch that made songs from previous ...
CD review - Growing Up Is Getting Old Dear Jason Michael Carroll, Congratulations on the success you enjoyed with your first album "Waitin' in the Country" as well as the first single Where I'm From off your new album. At this stage in your career, you should probably be thinking about ways to make yourself stand out from the ever-increasing crowd of the next king of country music wannabes. It's not enough to have three names (just ask Earl Thomas Conley or Jason Michael Montgomery. ...
CD review - Waitin' in the Country It seems like now is the time for country vocalists with deep, rich voices to be heard, and Jason Michael Carroll will certainly be heard. Versatility and passion are the traits that best serve his sometimes rumbling vocals. Carroll took a step away from his North Carolina fundamentalist upbringing to make the secular music forbidden at home. That act of rebellion isn't lost in his music as it burns across songs with social implications, like the first single (and hit) off his album, ...
