Garth Brooks looks to release new CD

Friday, August 10, 2007 – Garth Brooks looks to be making his way back to recording and releasing new material, according to Billboard.

The exact plans have not been released, although Brooks is slated to hold a press conference in Nashville Aug. 18.

Billboard is reporting that Brooks will release a three-CD boxed set, "The Ultimate Garth Brooks" in early November. The set will contain 34 tracks, including 4 new songs and a DVD with videos for all songs on the CD. Brooks also is said to be re-releasing his previously issued CDs, many unavailable since 1998.

(Truth in advertising, his "The Ultimate Hits," which actually is part of the new box set, included four new songs back in 2007). And it's quite an undertaking - four CDs of covers - Country Classics, Classic Rock, Blue-Eyed Soul and Melting Pot, an amalgam of country, rock, soul and folk; the two-CD set, "The Ultimate Set" and a DVD of his live performance in Vegas. ...
