Keith defends decision to play Trump inauguration
Sunday, January 15, 2017 – Toby Keith is playing during the inauguration activities surrounding President-elect Donald Trump, and he's not apologizing for it either.
"I don't apologize for performing for our country or military. I performed at events for previous Presidents Bush and Obama, and over 200 shows in Iraq and Afghanistan for the USO."
Keith is slated to sing on Thursday at the Make America Great Again! Welcome Celebration concert at the Lincoln Memorial. Lee Greenwood, a singer of patriotic country fare, is also on the bill at the concert.
Three Doors Down and country singers Tim Rushlow, formerly of Little Texas, and Gary LeVox of Rascal Flatts will also play various Inauguration events around D.C.
Others slated to play inauguration events include Jackie Evancho. Several perfomers have dropped out including Jennifer Holliday.
