Morris, Brothers Osborne, Pardi take ACM honors
Tuesday, March 14, 2017 – Jon Pardi, Brothers Osborne and Maren Morris were winners of the Academy of Country Music new artist winners announced today.
Brothers Osborne won New Vocal Duo; Morris New Female Vocalist and Pardi New Male Vocalist.
All three will perform on the show co-hosted by Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley from Las Vegas on Sunday April 2.
The awards were the first wins ever for all three acts.
Brothers Osborne are also nominated for Vocal Duo of the Year. Morris received an additional five nominations including Female Vocalist of the Year, Album of the Year (as artist and producer) and Single Record of the Year (as artist and producer).
Previously announced performers include Jason Aldean, Dierks Bentley, Luke Bryan, Florida Georgia Line with the Backstreet Boys, Lady Antebellum, Miranda Lambert, Little Big Town and Morris. Additional acts and presenters will be announced.

CD reviews
You know from the first notes of Jon Pardi's "All I Want For Christmas" that this is going to be good album as it starts off with a steel guitar intro. Later, there is also a twin fiddle solo. These elements reveal how this track is a true country version. It's also executed well, which makes this old holiday warhorse of a song somehow sound fresh and new. It's one of 12 winners and proves once again what a gift Pardi is to us all.

There are no big social statements made on Brothers Osborne's self-titled album. However, as long as this brotherly duo matches John Osborne's funky/twangy electric guitar with T.J. Osborne's deep holler lead vocals, that scintillating sibling sound is more than good enough to satisfy. This album's 11 tracks find these two further perfecting their catchy, distinctive vibes.
Country people, with their unique Bible Belt locales, probably think more about sin and its consequences

Jon Pardi's "Mr. Saturday Night" sounds as though most of its stories take place on the weekend at an idealized country honky tonk. Many of these drinking holes also feature swinging doors and jukeboxes. They don't seem like citified bars, but they perfectly fit Pardi's enjoyable neo-traditional song cycle.
Although the drums pound much harder on the single "Last Night Lonely" than they do on truly traditional country music, Pardi incorporates far more fiddle
