Tim McGraw checks in at number one on Billboard overall, country music charts

Thursday, April 5, 2007 – Tim McGraw scored a double on the April 14 Billboard charts that were released today. "Let It Go" debuted as the best selling disc in the entire country, while "Last Dollar (Fly Away)" was the number one country song. The disc sold about 330,000 units, taking over the number one spot on the overall chart from and on the country chart from Carrie Underwood's "Some Hearts."

On the song chart, Underwood was second with "Wasted," while Kenny Chesney slipped from number one to three with "Beer in Mexico." Rascal Flatts stayed fourth with "Stand." Sugarland was up one to fifth with "Settlin'."

Billy Currington's "Good Directions" was the biggest mover in the top 10, going from 12th to 9th. Alan Jackson was up from 14th to 11th with "A Woman's Love." Brad Paisley's "Ticks" climbed 3 spots to 14th. Tracy Lawrence moved up the charts with "Find Out Who Your Friends Are," which he released independently on his own label. The song went from 20th to 17th. "Wrapped" by George Strait was up 3 as well to 20th.

On the album chart, Underwood was second followed by two new discs, Alabama's "Songs of Inspiration II" and Jack Ingram's "This is It." Taylor Swift was fifth.

A few albums by big-name artists were on the downslide. Keith Urban's Love, Pain & the whole crazy thing" was in 11th, down 5, while Sugarland's "Enjoy the Ride" was 12th, down 4. Lawrence was up 4 to 22nd with "For the Love."

On the overall top 200, Underwood was 17th, Alabama 33rd, Ingram 34th and Swift 40th.
