Capitol/Giantslayer team to release Xmas song

Wednesday, December 5, 2007 – Capitol Records Nashville teamed up with Giantslayer Records and The Song Trust (songwriters Tim Johnson and Rory Feek of Giantslayer) to promote a special song they wrote and produced "Bring Him Home Santa." The song was serviced to country radio this week.

"Bring Him Home Santa" will be promoted by the label's record promotion and marketing team. It will be promoted directly to radio stations across the country to bring the touching song directly to listeners on the air.

Capitol Records Nashville will donate all net proceeds from the sales of "Bring Him Home Santa" to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.

Johnson and Feek wrote, recorded and released a song not tied to an actual artist. It features an unknown six-year old first-grade little girl singing about a letter written to Santa while she's missing her daddy at Christmas time. "The little girl doesn't want to be known. She doesn't want any press," said a Capitol Nashville spokesperson Thursday.

They've also created a 'song diary' that documents that journey that this one song has taken from the moment of creation, through the recording process, the radio release and beyond. "We believe in the power of a song, and especially this one" says Feek, "It might lead us nowhere... but then again, it might take us everywhere".
