Chart success continues for Carrie Underwood
Wednesday, February 15, 2006 – The chart success will continue for Carrie Underwood when the Billboard weekly charts are released Thursday. Underwood once again topped the song chart for the sixth straight week with "Jesus, Take the Wheel" and the album chart with "Some Hearts."
Underwood has topped the album chart for 11 of 13 weeks since the disc's release.
Underwood's success set a record for a song as it has spent the most weeks at number one for a single from a new artist debut album in the Nielsen rating system.
The album was the fastest-selling debut country album in Nielsen SoundScan history. She also wrote a new page in RIAA record books when "Some Hearts" earned the all-time fastest double platinum certification of a debut country album.
