Dolly Parton delays release of new CD
Friday, January 11, 2008 – The release date of "Backwoods Barbie, Dolly Parton's first album of mainstream country music in 17 years, is being moved to late February/early March and will now coincide with the launch of Parton's "Backwoods Barbie World Tour 2008/2009" which kicks off Feb. 28 at the Northrup Auditorium in Minneapolis.
The CD had been set for a Feb. 5 release. No reason was given for the delay.
Three previously announced February special club shows (Chicago, Los Angeles and New York) may be rescheduled as well.
Parsons wrote nine of the songs for the album, including the current single and video "Better Get to Livin'," and produced the CD with bandleader and guitarist Kent Wells.
