Rascal Flatts "Me and My Gang" goes double platinum
Thursday, May 11, 2006 – Rascal Flatts' latest CD, "Me and My Gang," was certified double platinum for sales of more than 2 million units, it was announced Wednesday.
The certification occurred one month after its release on April 4th. The CD remains the biggest debut of the year, selling more than 721,000 units in its first week of release. The disc has sold about 1.4 million units overall.
In the 6 years since the release of their debut, Rascal Flatts has scanned more than 10 million units. "Feels Like Today" is certified quadruple platinum for sales of more than 4 million units while "Rascal Flatts" and "Melt" are each certified double platinum. "Me And My Gang "is the band's fastest selling title to date.
