Tanya Tucker evacuates Malibu home due to area fires
Monday, October 22, 2007 – Wildfires in California caused Tanya Tucker to have her teenage daughter evacuate their home in Malibu, one of the areas worst hit by the fires.
Tucker, who is currently in Las Vegas, said in a statement released late Sunday night, "My 18-year-old daughter, Presley, had to leave the house with our four dogs. We woke up in horror this morning. It was very chaotic."
Soon after Presley was evacuated, fire helicopters doused the residence with water to help keep the fire from spreading. "All my stage clothing, boots, belts and wardrobe is in that house. I have so much memorabilia since I just moved from Nashville to Malibu," said Tucker.
Fires have hit southern California due to a drought.
