Kix Brooks turns to acting
Thursday, November 18, 2010 – Kix Brooks told fans this week he was headed off to Phoenix to begin shooting an independent film called "Thriftstore Cowboy. "
Brooks said he's playing a darker character in the movie, which has no set release date as yet. "When I leave here, I'll try to leave my happy go lucky and get in a little darker mood," Brooks said, adding that his character's not really a villain. "He's hooked up with some really bad guys, and he's trying to hang with them."
"I was actually a theater major in college, and have turned down quite a few parts over the years just because I didn't really have time while I was touring, so it's one of the things I'm looking forward to getting into a little bit more now," Brooks told The Boot last month.
