Dan + Shay play Pittsburgh synagogue benefit

Tuesday, November 27, 2018 – Dan + Shay will play "A Concert for Unity" benefit concert at Pittsburgh's Byham Theater on Dec. 2 with all proceeds donated to re-building the Tree of Life Synagogue. Eleven Jews were murdered during Saturday morning Sabbath services at the Pittsburgh synagogue in late October. A few local bands also are on the bill.

"On behalf of our entire congregation, I wish to thank all who are involved in this amazing effort to support the rebuilding of our synagogue. We are so appreciative of A Concert for Unity for the Tree of Life's benefit, just as we are humbled by this incredible show of support from all who are involved. This proves that love truly is stronger than hate," said Samuel K. Schachner, President of the Tree of Life Congregation.

Dan Smyers, one-half of the group, grew up in the Pittsburgh suburb of Wexford.

The duo will bring their Gold-certified hit "Speechless" to Good Morning America on Dec. 4, playing during the 8 a.m. hour.

Dan + Shay are currently touring with Chris Young for his "Losing Sleep" Tour and will headline a UK tour kicking off Jan. 17, 2019. They will follow with "Dan + Shay The Tour"

CD review - Dan + Shay The track list on Dan +Shay's self-titled third album has a song crediting Kelly Clarkson as a featured vocalist. Upon a full listen, you will think they forgot about a few others. The disc features the duo's contemporary sound that mirrors many artists in the genre. The lead-off track, "Alone Together," evokes Rascal Flatts' Gary LeVox and is half of the only seven minutes on the tidy 35-minute collection that represent anything near up-tempo. The duo puts the ballads on ...
CD review - Obssessed Dan Myers and James Shay Mooney came from different parts of the country (Allegheny County, Pa. and Arkansas, respectively) and met in Nashville where each was tracking the well-worn path to country music success. They began writing songs together a little over three years ago, already have a hit album ("Where It All Began") and now have another tiger by the tail. Dan + Shay know a hook, can write songs and have identified a sweet spot in the formula of country music success. ...
