Thompson Square signs with Reviver

Thursday, March 14, 2019 – Thompson Square has a new record deal, signing with Reviver Entertainment, the duo announced today.

The husband-and-wife duo of Keifer and Shawna Thompson released the disc "Masterpiece" last year. They are best known for their 2X-PLATINUM number 1 hit "Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not" and "If I Didn't Have You."

"Masterpiece" was inspired by the birth of their son Cooper in 2016.

"We have found a group of like-minded people who are as passionate about our music and career as we are," said the duo in a statement. "David, Gator and Bob have a vision that is exciting and motivating, and we cannot wait to get to work. We're looking forward to this next chapter, and we couldn't be surrounded by a better collection of talented and tenured individuals."

"Thompson Square has written and recorded a brilliant project in 'Masterpiece,'" said Reviver Records President Gator Michaels. "In addition to being incredibly talented, Keifer and Shawna are wonderful people. We couldn't be more proud to have them join our family at Reviver Entertainment."

The Thompsons recently released a music video for the project's title track. Shot and produced by Evan Kaufmann and filmed at the Coleman Theatre in Keifer's hometown of Miami, Okla., the video captures the story of the Thompson family history - complete with home videos - intertwining the tale with an intimate live performance of the track.

Reviver's roster includes David Lee Murphy, Big & Rich, Johnny Cash and John Carter Cash.

The duo also wrote a children's book, "Time to Get Dressed." Born from warm-hearted memories of the couple's daily ritual with Cooper, and the song Keifer would sing to help him through it, the lesson book was illustrated by Ana Patankar.

CD review - Masterpiece If there's a way in which Thompson Square can partner up, they will find it. The husband/wife and singer/songwriting team has added two more badges to their collaborations: parents (a baby son was born in 2016) and independent artists (the duo parted ways with Stoney Creek Records). TS's second record, 2012's "Just Feels Good," didn't exactly disappoint - it carried two Top 20 singles. Still, it was a bit of a retread and sold less than half of their debut. ...
CD review - Just Feels Good The ever-so-happily married Keifer and Shawna Thompson, equal halves of the duo Thompson Square, wasted no time taking the world by storm on their debut record. That disc went on to spawn 2011's most-played song on country radio, Are You Gonna Kiss Me Or Not. The curse of the sophomore jinx looms large, and many bands have fallen trying to hammer out a follow-up while navigating newfound stardom. Not, however, these two. Thompson Square has put together yet another bouncy set of country ...
CD review - Thompson Square Real-life couple duets carry an honorable tradition in country music. Who could forget the flirtatious sparring of Carter/Cash, the hard-times love of Jones/Wynette or swooning of Hill/McGraw? But rarely does a married couple enter into a musical partnership quite like Keifer and Shawna Thompson, aka Thompson Square. After two respective solo careers failed to catch fire, the Thompsons are now a full-time personal and professional team with a debut record. The lead single and hit, Are You ...
