Runaway June member leaves group

Thursday, May 14, 2020 – Runaway June member Hannah Mulholland announced Thursday that she is leaving the trio.

There was no reason given for the decision. That leaves Jennifer Wayne and Naomi Cooke as members. Mulholland, who was from Los Angeles, sang low harmonies and played mandolin. The trio met in Nasvhille and released the single "Lipstick" on Broken Bow. An EP followed in 2018 featuring the single "Buy My Own Drinks," which received radio play. Runaway June's debut full length, "Blue Roses," came out in June 2019. The band opened for Carrie Underwood on her tour last fall.

"It's with great respect and love that I must announced my departure from Runaway June. We have spent five years chasing dreams, climbing mountains, conquering things we never imagined possible and having lots of fun along the way."

"I am so thankful for the opportunities that I have had and all of the amazing people I have met along the way."

"Our great team, supportive label, amazing fans and all of our champions at country radio...You guys have changed my life forever. I've dreamt these dreams since I was five years old, and I feel so fortunate to have gotten these chances and been a part of this incredible journey. I wish everyone continued success and happiness."

"I hope you will continue to follow my creative endeavors and share in what the future has to hold. It is bittersweet, but I am excited to continue to evolve and grow while keeping these memories near and dear to my heart. Thank you. Love to you all."

Runaway June tweeted, "We love you Hannah & are so thankful for the years and memories we've shared on this journey! Wishing you the absolute best!"

CD reviews for Runaway June

CD review - When I Think About Christmas EP Runaway June put a lot of thought in how their five-song holiday project would sound. Yes, three of these five selections are already overly familiar tunes to most of us. Yet, you haven't heard them sung exactly like this before. The trio Runaway June put their vocal harmony skills to excellent use throughout this lovely little treat - its first with Natalie Stovall. Additionally, the music is real country, too. Opener, "Christmas on the Radio" celebrates popular holiday ...
CD review - Blue Roses Runaway June - Naomi Cooke, Hannah Mulholland and Jennifer Wayne - weave gorgeous harmonies around the lyrics of these songs on their new album, all but four of which they wrote with other writers. The trio have a way with their phrasing, getting inside the songs and making them their own. The beauty of the album lies in the singing, but we've all heard these songs about breakups, makeups, loss, and love before, and by the closing track, we're left with faded memories of beautiful voices. ...
CD review - Runaway June Finally, after two long years of hard work and positive buzz, Runaway June has dropped its debut self-titled EP. With hitmaker Dann Huff on board as producer and early tracks having received praise both in print and in concert. So, is it worth all the hype? In a word, yes. While Runaway June, comprised of Naomi Cooke (lead vocals, guitar), Hannah Mulholland (vocals; mandolin) and Jennifer Wayne (vocals; guitar), are fresh to the scene, they play together like a well-oiled machine. ...
