Dan + Shay, Crow top releases

Friday, August 13, 2021 – Dan + Shay are out with "Good Things" today. Produced by the duo's Dan Smyers, "Good Things" includes the first single "10,000 Hours" with Justin Bieber. Other songs include "Glad You Exist" and the title track, which is the current single. Shay Mooney, the other half of Dan + Shay, or Smyers had a hand in writing all 12 songs.

Sheryl Crow is "Live From the Ryman & More," a 27-song set filled with tracks from her "Threads" CD and signature hits such as "Strong Enough," "All I Wanna Do" and "Soak Up The Sun." The music was recorded over five nights at Nashville's Ryman Auditorium, Los Angeles' Ace Theatre and the Newport Folk Festival in Rhode Island.

Jeremy Garrett, fiddle player for The Infamous Stringdusters, is out today with "Wanderer's Compass." Garrett utilizes fiddle, guitar and mandolin to create a variety of sounds. Garrett presents originals interleaved with covers of songs by writers ranging from an Israeli pop singer to Coldplay to Jimmie Rodgers. Garrett does a duet with guitarist Jon Stickley ("I'm Not The Enemy"), and new songs written during troubled times ("The World Keeps Turning Around"), several with frequent collaborator Jon Weisberger.

Kalie Shorr drops a five-song EP, "I Got Here By Accident," today via TMWRK Records. Produced by Butch Walker (P!nk, Taylor Swift, Green Day),the release contains only Shorr and Walker.

CD review - Good Things With Rascal Flatts gone, the heir apparent to the breezy pop country throne, Dan +Shay has taken its rightful place. Their fourth studio album, "Good Things," is a feather light 12-song cruise suitable for multiple radio formats from adult contemporary to pop and even country, though that feels like a stretch. CD review - Obssessed Dan Myers and James Shay Mooney came from different parts of the country (Allegheny County, Pa. and Arkansas, respectively) and met in Nashville where each was tracking the well-worn path to country music success. They began writing songs together a little over three years ago, already have a hit album ("Where It All Began") and now have another tiger by the tail.
