The song is a meditation on transformation that contains Russell's album thesis - "I used to dream, but now I write; I wield my words like spindles bright; To weave a world where every child Is safe and loved; And Black is beautiful and good." The disc will be released on Sept. 8 via Fantasy Records.

This week, Russell also announced a major U.S. headlining tour. The shows kick off Oct. 13 at The Ark in Ann Arbor, Mich. and wraps up in January 2024.
