Parmalee is "For You 2"

Monday, August 28, 2023 – With their current single "Girl In Mine" high on the charts, Parmalee is prepping for the release of their extended album "For You 2" on Sept. 22.

The disc includes five new songs. Parmalee is releasing the song "Boyfriend," a new song from the album on Friday. The song was written by lead singer Matt Thomas, producer David Fanning, along with hitmakers Ashley Gorley, Ben Johnson, Michael Hardy and Hunter Phelps, "Boyfriend."

Thomas said, "You're in love with a girl who's getting treated badly, and all you can think is if she was yours, you would treat her right and put a ring on her finger. The melody and production has a bit of a country-punk vibe, and I think it's going to add some fun energy and attitude to our set."

The album has already yielded two number one country singles including the double-platinum "Just The Way," featuring Blanco Brown, and the platinum-certified "Take My Name," which was Billboard's Most Played Country Song of 2022.

Last week, Parmalee kicked-off a month-long tour with Train. "We're thrilled about the tour with Train, and we've been fans of them and their music for a long time," said Thomas. "They share a band mentality, just like we do, and I feel like we're cut from the same cloth in a lot of ways. We're excited to play our music for their fans."

CD review - 27861 We're in the dog days of summer and Parmalee is ready to party. They began work on "27861" (the North Carolina zip code they all lived in and which each band member has tattooed on him somewhere) with about 35 songs that were eventually pared down to the 12 that make up the final track list. They serve up a dozen tales primarily of sandy white beaches, mimosas and a whole lot of lighthearted summertime vibe. The album sets the tone early with the one two punch of a Jake Owen/Kenny ...
The new outlaw country band member is decidedly not your father's Oldsmobile. Gone are the cowboy hats. The new outfits will have heavy metal or hip-hop accents, to match the tattoos, of course. And if they seem to rock as hard as most rock bands, that's all part of the design. Joining this new tradition is Parmalee, named after the tiny North Carolina burg where two brothers and their immediate circle learned to play in a tin shed. They've been kicking the tires of the music ...
