Moroney is okay with "Man on the Moon"
Friday, June 7, 2024 – Sony Music Nashville/Columbia Records artist Megan Moroney is out with her new song "Man on the Moon," an anthem for shaking off someone who won't stop sending mixed signals.
"Man on the Moon" will appear on Moroney's sophomore album, "Am I Okay?," due out July 12. Moroney previously released "No Caller ID."
Written by Moroney, Ashley Gorley, Casey Smith, and David "Messy" Mescon, "Man on the Moon" is a more playful Moroney.
Lyrics include "Houston, he's a problem/He's leaving then he's calling/He's a headache and a half and I can't win"). The solutioin? "Somewhere far, let him fly/Out of this world and off my mind/C'mon there's gotta be a rocket somewhere taking off soon/I think it's time we put another man on the moon."
The song was produced by Moroney's frequent collaborator Kristian Bush, who handled production for all of "Am I Okay?"

Although Megan Moroney titles her album "Lucky," luck has nothing to do with its success. The football-themed love song "Tennessee Orange" was the first introduction to Moroney for many, but her consistently high-quality album is ending up on many 'best albums of 2023' lists for good reason.
