Mary Chapin Carpenter signs new record deal
Friday, September 22, 2006 – Mary Chapin Carpenter, with Sony for her entire career, just signed a worldwide recording contract with Rounder Records. A new studio album, "The Calling," will be out on the label�s rock/pop imprint Zo� Records in March 2007.
The album was recorded and co-produced with keyboard virtuoso Matt Rollings (Lyle Lovett, Keith Urban), with whom Carpenter co-produced her critically-acclaimed previous album, "Between Here & Gone." "The Calling" will feature all new original songs.
Over the course of 10-albums, Carpenter has won five Grammy awards and sold more than 12 million albums. She has had 12 top 10 singles, including �He Thinks He�ll Keep Her," "I Feel Lucky" and "Down at the Twist and Shout."
