Rascal Flatts raises big bucks for Vandy hospital

Monday, September 25, 2006 – Rascal Flatts donated $817,000 in proceeds from Friday night's sold-out Gaylord Entertainment Center concert in Nashville to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. The donation becomes the largest fund-raising event ever for the hospital, besting Rascal Flatts $600,000 donation from last year's inaugural event.

Lead singer Gary LeVox told a story about their recent trip to the hospital where they learned the night before their visit, 13 children had to sleep on cots in the emergency room because all the beds were full. So he pleaded to the audience to continue their local support for such a deserving cause "so that each child who needs one, can have a room of their own."

CD review - The Greatest Gift of All It's the big things - and sometimes the little things - that make Rascal Flatts' Christmas album "The Greatest Gift of All" stand out. On the macro level, the country vocal trio put a little funk - well, as much funk as three Nashville guys can muster - into "Go Tell It on The Mountain." And then, the cool little bass line introducing "Let It Snow" helps differentiate this act's version from possibly millions of other versions. Much of "The ...
