Little Big Town: calling all opening acts

Wednesday, January 21, 2009 – Little Big Town announced today that country musicians across the nation can register and compete to land a spot as the opening act on Little Big Town's upcoming A Place to Land tour.

The top four acts will perform at different stops on the tour during March. Once the bands are registered for the competition, the rest is up to the support of their fans. Regardless of their hometowns, fans across the nation can bolster their favorite acts' chances to make it to the big stage by using Eventful's Demand service.

The winning bands will join list of opening acts including Zac Brown Band, Ashton Shepard and Kate & Kacey.

Fans and musicians can log on to: http://eventful.com/littlebigtown to participate. Launched today, Feb. 27, on Eventful. The winning bands will be announced that date.

"In the past Little Big Town has had amazing opportunities as an opening act," states Little Big Town's Karen Fairchild. "We've had the honor of opening for John Mellencamp, George Strait, Martina McBride, Sugarland, Keith Urban and more. Because of our experiences, we wanted to find a way to give back to some bands that are just getting started in their careers. It's even more special because the fans get to choose. I can't wait to see who the fans select."

CD review - Nightfall Little Big Town gets billed as a country music vocal group, but "Nightfall" plays out more like a four-headed singer-songwriter effort. Many of these songs hearken back to some of the best '70s introspective songwriter efforts. The album opens with "Next to You," which builds from a gentle meditation, into a full-on anthemic ode to the comfort and strength of fidelity. "Questions" interestingly finds an ex asking questions via song lyrics, which she can never ...
CD review - The Breaker Anyone who missed Little Big Town's remarkable 2012 Unplugged performance on CMT should seek it out online. When they sing their monster hit "Pontoon," four hypnotic voices combine to harmonic perfection with no studio tricks - pick from any of the microphones, and it works as the song's lead vocal. But now that the group has ascended to the upper rung of stardom, different challenges arise. How do you compete with yourself fresh from a Grammy for Best Country Song ...
