Mary Chapin Carpenter cancels tour due to illness
Tuesday, May 1, 2007 – Mary Chapin Carpenter canceled her summer tour, she said on her web site Monday. Carpenter recently finished the spring leg of The Calling tour "during which time she experienced pain from a recent back injury. She was subsequently hospitalized for a pulmonary embolism, possibly as a result of her limited movement during the spring tour," according to her web site.
It was not known how long she was in the hospital, but Carpenter was released April 27.
Carpenter is well on her way to recovery," the web site said She hopes to resume touring sometime in 2008.
