Little Big Town takes CMA single honor
Thursday, November 1, 2012 – Little Big Town won the first honor at the Country Music Association awards show Thursday with Pontoon for single of the year.
The quartet beat such artists as Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and Dierks Bentley to take the honor, in what was a surprise.
"Brad Paisley, you told my mamma what motorboating was," said Kimberly Schlapman, alluding to jokes made by the co-host of the night a few minutes earlier about one of the words in the song.
LBT member Karen Fairchild said, "We've been doing this forever. We only wanted to make music for y'all."
Lisa Marie Presley handed out the honor.
