Dan + Shay "Obsessed" with early downloads

Friday, May 6, 2016 – Dan + Shay (Dan Smyers and Shay Mooney) treated fans to five instant downloads from their new Warner album "Obsessed," out June 3.

The duo announced this morning that fans can stream digitally or receive the songs when they pre-order the album on iTunes, including the single "From the Ground Up," along with "Already Ready," "Road Trippin," "How Not To" and the title track.

Dan + Shay will also hit the road with Darius Rucker on his Good for a Good Time Tour the same day as the album is released.

"The 'Obsessed' album is for our fans, and surprising them is one of our favorite things to do," said Smyers." We wouldn't be able to do what we do without them, so we wanted to give them more music sooner than they could buy it in stores."

"There's nothing better than hearing them sing our songs back to us at a show, hitting every word and every note," Mooney said. "We're so excited to share the new album 'Obsessed' with our fans and hear what they think."

The duo released companion video for "Road Trippin," shot this week in Los Angeles. Fans can also check out the first companion video for "Already Ready," shot and conceived at a Nashville house party and debuted last week as Facebook's Artist of the Day.

CD review - Good Things With Rascal Flatts gone, the heir apparent to the breezy pop country throne, Dan +Shay has taken its rightful place. Each song was co-written and produced by Dan Smyers while Shay Mooney put his pen to eight tracks. One look at the credits, and you'll know which direction it will be headed. ...
CD review - Dan + Shay The track list on Dan +Shay's self-titled third album has a song crediting Kelly Clarkson as a featured vocalist. Upon a full listen, you will think they forgot about a few others. The disc features the duo's contemporary sound that mirrors many artists in the genre. The lead-off track, "Alone Together," evokes Rascal Flatts' Gary LeVox and is half of the only seven minutes on the tidy 35-minute collection that represent anything near up-tempo. CD review - Obssessed Dan Myers and James Shay Mooney came from different parts of the country (Allegheny County, Pa. and Arkansas, respectively) and met in Nashville where each was tracking the well-worn path to country music success. They began writing songs together a little over three years ago, already have a hit album ("Where It All Began") and now have another tiger by the tail. Dan + Shay know a hook, can write songs and have identified a sweet spot in the formula of country music success. ...
