Pope longs for "Summer"

Monday, May 16, 2016 – With a number one song behind her, Cassadee Pope is thinking "Summer," as her new four-song EP is coming June 3.

Pope recently hit the top with "Think of You" with Chris Young. On the "Summer" EP, Pope had a hand in writing three of the four songs, including the title track, which will be the single.

Strolling through the Demonbreun Hill neighborhood in Nashville, Pope searched for a lunch spot as images of the forthcoming EP were displayed in the background before the final close-up at Harp & Fiddle.

"I've always had a colorful imagination, and I think this new collection of songs helps show my stories in a more vibrant way," said the West Palm Beach, Fla. native. "I hope fans not only hear more of who I am, but see the confidence and reflection I've experienced since 'Frame by Frame.' I'm more aware and grounded so I hope the overall message from this EP is to be yourself and encouraged in life's journey. Moments feel different as time passes so find beauty in knowing that wherever you are will be different... and so will you."

Songs are:
1. Summer | Written by Cassadee Pope, Kelly Archer, Emily Shackelton
2. Piano | Written by Cassadee Pope, Jimmy Robbins, Laura Veltz
3. Kisses At Airports | Written by Jessi Alexander, Connie Harrington, Chase McGill
4. Alien | Written by Cassadee Pope, Ross Copperman, Jon Nite

Corey Crowder produced the EP and co-wrote "Think of You." Young and Pope will continue collaborating on his I'm Comin' Over Tour this fall.

CD reviews for Cassadee Pope

CD review - Rise & Shine By all accounts, Cassadee Pope has led a glitzy life. She was the first female winner of "The Voice." She then had a record deal at 17, a spot on a sold-out tour with Fall Out Boy at 18 and eventually garnered a Grammy nomination. Her discography of country-pop is generally glitzy, too. Well, not this time. "Rise and Shine" is a stripped-down acoustic effort by the 30-year-old singer that is thoughtfully introspective without being brooding or too deliberate. ...
CD review - Stages Although Cassadee Pope's "Stage" album includes a few too many pop-country songs for comfort, it closes with a true winner. The ballad "I've Been Good," which turns a customary greeting response on its head, is a true show-stopper. She's been 'good,' yes; good at drinkin' whiskey and nearly everything except getting over a breakup. With its drinking song lyrical reference and sincere vocal sadness, Pope earns her wings as a fine country singer. ...
CD review - Summer EP Cassadee Pope's new release is officially called "Summer EP." But upon a full listen, one wonders if the working title may have been "The Road More Often Traveled." To say that the third season "The Voice" winner played it safe is a bit of an understatement. She penned three of the songs, including the obvious title track and the more impactful, autobiographical "Alien." Elsewhere, the songs are about a summer fling, mean people and appreciating your loved ones. ...
