Rascal Flatts donates more than $800K to Vanderbilt hospital

Monday, September 24, 2007 – Rascal Flatts donated more than $800,000 from its Friday night benefit concert in Nashville for a children's hospital at Vanderbilt University.

The $829,581 from this concert means that in 3 years, the trio has donated $2.2 million to the Monroe Carell Jr. Children's Hospital at Vanderbilt. The donation becomes the largest solo fund-raising event ever for the hospital for a third consecutive year, besting their 2006 donation of $817,000.

During a pre-show party, the members of Rascal Flatts - Gary LeVox, Jay DeMarcus and Joe Don Rooney - presented a check to Kevin Churchwell, the CEO of the hospital. LeVox, lead singer for the band, said that it was a community effort from the concert ticket buyers and also shared "know that when you leave this place tonight, you have made a difference in someone's life."

During the party, Rascal Flatts presented Children's Hospital with a photo collage plaque commemorating their visits to the children at the hospital over the past three years.

If there is no one to remember you, your legacy is basically a moot point. ...

Loaded with the band's signature tight harmonies and upbeat jams built around lyrics of love and loss, Rascal Flatts doesn't move far off the beaten path while carving out a high energy declaration of summer love. Fans looking for those beach cruising jams ...
CD review - The Greatest Gift of All It's the big things - and sometimes the little things - that make Rascal Flatts' Christmas album "The Greatest Gift of All" stand out. On the macro level, the country vocal trio put a little funk - well, as much funk as three Nashville guys can muster - into "Go Tell It on The Mountain." And then, the cool little bass line introducing "Let It Snow" helps differentiate this act's version from possibly millions of other versions. Much of "The ...
