Old Dominion goes down "Memory Lane"

Monday, January 2, 2023 – Old Dominion will release the single "Memory Lane" on Jan. 5 via Arista Nashville/Sony Music Nashville.

"Sometimes, when I'm feeling overwhelmed or missing someone or maybe just feel a little nostalgic, there are places in my mind I can go that are full of memories of simpler times. It's a location, or a person, or a feeling that will always live in my memories and I can close my eyes and transport myself there anytime I want and experience it all again," said Old Dominion's lead singer Matthew Ramsey. "I think we all have that time in our life that will remain forever perfect in our hearts. Sometimes we wish we could just stay there and never leave."

"Memory Lane," written by Old Dominion's Ramsey, Trevor Rosen and Brad Tursi alongside Jessie Jo Dillon, was first previewed on TikTok. They gave fans the details when they announced the song first on their socials on New Year's Eve.

Lyrics include:
Thinkin' 'bout those sunsets that bled into jean jacket nights
Those tangled up mornings lost in paradise
Still drunk on the feeling when I close my eyes
You're pulling me closer, your head on my shoulder
We'd never let go and we'd never be over

"Memory Lane" marks the band's first piece of new music since the release of "Beer With My Friends" with Kenny Chesney this summer.

The band will go on the No Bad Vibes Tour kicking off later this month in Evansville, Ind. on Jan. 19.

CD review - Memory Lane There are two ways to listen to Old Dominion's music. You can simply enjoy it for the feel, the lyrics, the beat...or you can study it as a master class in contemporary country songwriting and record production. Either way you're in for a treat, especially on this eight-song EP "Memory Lane." Hooks, harmonies, rhythms and feel-good images are everywhere here. Old Dominion (name chosen because four band members are from Virginia) originally formed to highlight songs that the ...
CD review - Old Dominion Old Dominion has gained a following on the heels of two albums of lively material. Their self-titled third release stays the course and delivers a dozen radio-friendly songs. The hyper positive lead single "Make it Sweet" sets the stage with an ode to the brighter side of everything. Most tracks are upbeat but, ironically, there is not an official party anthem or even a drinking song. The closest they get is "American Style," which is laden with standard innocent imagery ...
CD review - Happy Endings Right off the bat, the title of Old Dominion's album "Happy Endings" is far better than "Meat and Candy," its prior effort. ("Meat" in an album title? Really?) But also on an artistic level, OD's follow-up shows signs of growth. With that said, though, there's nothing on this new release as immediately catchy as "Snapback." Nevertheless, the vocal-only harmonies introducing "Not Everything's About You," are a beautiful thing. ...
