Beyonce takes Best Album at GRAMMYS; Ferrell wins four

Sunday, February 2, 2025 – Beyonce won the biggest honor of the night at the GRAMMYS - Album of the Year - for "Cowboy Carter."

Sierra Ferrell had a big night at the GRAMMYS, taking home four trophies. She was the GRAMMYs' second-most winner of 2025, behind only Kendrick Lamar's five.

In winning the top honor, Beyonce said, "I just feel very full and very honored. It's been many many years, and I just want to thank the GRAMMYS, every songwriter, every collaborator... I just hope we keep pushing forward, opening doors."

Beyonce, who had 11 GRAMMY nominations, also won Best Country Album for "Cowboy Carter," even though country radio gave Beyonce's version of country music little airplay.

"I think sometimes genre is a code word to keep us in our place as artists," Beyoncé said ater accepting the Best Country Album award from Taylor Swift. "And I want to encourage people to do whatever they're passionate about, and stay persistent."

Ferrell took honors for:

Best Americana Album - "Trail of Flowers" - Sierra Ferrell

Best Americana Performance - "American Dreaming" – Sierra Ferrell

Best American Roots Performance - Sierra Ferrell

Best American Roots Song - Sierra Ferrell and Melody Walker, songwriters (Sierra Ferrell)

Other winners were:

Best Country Duo/Group Performance - "II Most Wanted" – Beyoncé featuring Miley Cyrus

Best Country Song - "The Architect" - Kacey Musgraves, Shane McAnally and Josh Osborne (songwriters award)

Best Country Solo Performance - "It Takes a Woman" – Chris Stapleton

Best Bluegrass Album - "" - Billy Strings

Gillian Welch and David Rawlings won Best Folk Album for their 10th studio album, "Woodland. The duo have previously won two GRAMMYS - 2021's Best Folk Album for "All The Good Times" (2020) and the 2002 Album Of The Year Grammy for "O Brother, Where Art Thou? – Soundtrack."
