Cash sells 54K, but not enough to top Lady A
Wednesday, March 3, 2010 – Johnny Cash had the third biggest selling disc in the U.S. this past week with "American VI: Ain't No Grave," but it wasn't enough to be the top selling country disc. That honor once again belongs to Lady Antebellum's "Need You Now," which was second behind Sade.
Lady A sold 118,000 units, down 18 percent from the previous week. Sade sold 127,000 units, down 34 percent, of "Soldier of Love." Cash registered 54,000 units sold. His last disc, "American V: A Hundred Highways," debuted in first with 88,000 units sold in July 2006.
Taylor Swift remained in the top 10 with "Fearless" at 9 with 28,000 units sold, down 13 percent..
Overall sales continue to slide with CD sales down 13 percent compared to the comparable sales week of 2009 with 5.99 million units sold.
