Josh Turner returns home to sing National Anthem at NASCAR's Darlington 500

Wednesday, April 18, 2007 – Josh Turner will perform the national anthem for the 2007 Dodge Avenger 500 NEXTEL CUP night race at Darlington Raceway in Darlington, S.C., on Saturday, May 12th. Turner's anthem will be televised live on FOX prior to the race.

"We are thrilled to welcome Josh Turner to Darlington Raceway," said track president Chris Browning. "He truly is a credit to the state of South Carolina. What a wonderful addition to the Darlington race experience." Turner is a South Carolina native.

Darlington will host Cup Series racing for the 58th consecutive season as Greg Biffle attempts to join the short list of drivers to win 3 events in a row at NASCAR's most historic venue. The 2007 Dodge Avenger 500 will be run under the lights in its entirety.
