Pistol Annies' Presley signs label deal

Wednesday, May 28, 2014 – Angaleena Presley, one third of Pistol Annies, will release her first solo album this fall on Slate Creek Records.

Presley is "Holler Annie" alongside Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe in Pistol Annies.

"Part of what I loved about Garth Fundis and Jim Burnett at Slate Creek is that they understood where I wanted to go creatively," said a Kentucky native. "Producing this album was important to me because of its content. I've lived every word of it and knew exactly how I wanted it to sound."

"We could not be happier about Angaleena joining our Slate Creek team and giving us the opportunity to release her remarkable solo debut," said Slate Creek's President & Creative Director Fundis. "From the first listen, we knew we wanted to be a part of this and can hardly wait for others to hear what she has created. Angaleena is both poet and artist in the truest sense of those words."

Presley's album title, track listing and release date are forthcoming. Slate Creek also is the home of singer/songwriter Brandy Clark.

CD review - Hell Of A Holiday You just knew a Pistol Annies' holiday album would be a little bit twisted. Sometimes more "Merry Christmas from the Family" than, say, "Silent Night." Comprised of three song female voices – Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley – "Hell of a Holiday" is mostly the sound of a group that just wanna have fun during the Christmas season. The album opens with its title cut, where these women get revved up for Christmas over a pounding drum ...
CD review - American Middle Class Angaleena Presley is best known as being one-third of Pistol Annies, the very cool side group with Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe. For Presley, the Annies (she is "Holler Annie") was her calling card to putting out this debut disc at 37, but the Annies needn't be thought of as a fall back plan for the Kentucky native. What separates Presley apart is her very sharp songwriting. Presley brings story songs to the fore, but these aren't feel good, everything works out in the ...
CD review - Annie Up For those who thought "Hell on Heels" was a one-off side project for Miranda Lambert (along with sidekicks Angaleena Presley and Ashley Monroe), think again. The Annies, aka "Lonestar Annie" (Lambert), "Hippie Annie" (Monroe), and "Holler Annie" (Presley), are no novelty act. Instead, they tackle material that you just are unlikely to hear on mainstream country radio both in subject matter and sonics. Like the debut, this one also makes it quite clear that ...
