Nelson + POTR schedule new shows

Tuesday, November 28, 2023 – Lukas Nelson and his longtime band, POTR, added 19 confirmed headline shows for 2024, he announced today.

Among the shows are Seattle's Showbox, Portland, Ore's Crystal Ballroom, San Francisco's The Fillmore (two nights), San Diego's The Sound, Los Angeles' The Bellwether and Las Vegas' Brooklyn Bowl.

Tickets for the new dates will be available for pre-sale starting tomorrow at 10 a.m. local time with general on-sale following this Friday at 10 a.m. local time.

Nelson has also organized Lōkahi: A Celebration of Maui, a special event to honor Maui's people and community following the wildfires earlier this year. Taking place at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center on Dec. 17, the event will include Nelson, Jack Johnson, Nathaniel Rateliff, Paula Fuga and Lily Meola.

Nelson is touring following the release of "Sticks and Stones" earlier this summer via 6ACE Records/Thirty Tigers.

CD review - Sticks and Stones Is the fact that Lukas Nelson has a famous father (Willie Nelson) a blessing or a curse? One might well wonder if this is somehow the case because he deserves so much more attention than he gets. Listening to "Sticks and Stones" offers plenty of new evidence that Lukas inherited great songwriting skills from his dad. It's one of his best efforts to date, too. The title track is a rather serious response to any and all that might judge Nelson and attempt to hurt him with mere words. ...
CD review - A Few Stars Apart With songs written during lockdown and recorded during the worldwide pandemic, much of Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real's "A Few Stars Apart" deals with human connections and survival. The vocal resemblance of frontman Nelson to his father, Willie, is inescapable on many tracks, particularly with the opening "We'll Be Alright," which projects optimism in troubled times ("And we can hold on/Through struggle and strife/Despite all the darkness/We'll be alright"). ...
