Hurd signs with Sony Nashville
Tuesday, January 3, 2017
– Michigan native Ryan Hurd has signed with Sony Nashville, he announced today via Twitter.
"Couldn't be more proud to be a part of @SonyNashville and @RCARecords. This is the only job I've wanted since I was 11, dream come true!" Hurd tweeted.
Hurd has written songs recorded by Blake Shelton, Dierks Bentley ("Black"), Florida Georgia Line ("Dig Your Roots"), Tim McGraw ("Sundown Heaven Town"), Jake Owen, Rascal Flatts ("Rewind"), Randy Houser, Darius Rucker, The Cadillac Three ("Bury Me In My Boots"), Brothers Osborne ("Pawn Shop") and the Swon Brothers.
He enjoyed his first chart topper as a songwriter in 2015 with "Lonely Tonight," recorded by Blake Shelton and Ashley Monroe.
Hurd will spend the next few months touring with Maren Morris and then Thomas Rhett. He wrote and sang backing vocals on Morris' song "Hero."
